Metro-North Service from Stamford to Penn
Penn Station Access includes major improvements along the Hell Gate Line to facilitate reliable, direct Metro-North service into Penn Station:
Four New Metro-North Passenger Stations
New, state-of-the-art ADA-accessible stations will be located in the East Bronx at Hunts Point, Parkchester/Van Nest, Morris Park, and Co-op City.
Track Work
Over 19 miles of new and rehabilitated track work along the existing Hell Gate Line right-of-way. Metro-North's New Rochelle Yard in Westchester County will be reconfigured.
Reconfigured Interlockings
Four new and one reconfigured interlockings within the project area.
Bridge Rehabilitations
The bridges at the Bronx River, Bronxdale Avenue, Eastchester Road, and Pelham Lane will be rehabilitated or replaced.
Power and Communication Infrastructure Modernizations
Signal systems, traction power, catenary, third rail, and substations will be upgraded along the corridor.
